SING SWELL COMMUNITY CHOIR
Sing SWell is a community choir based in Southfields. We sing a range of contemporary music from soul, pop and Motown classics to songs from films and musicals and a bit of classical. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome (16 and over).
Come along and try us out for a few rehearsals before you commit, it would be lovely to see you.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT REHEARSALS
We meet in St Michael's Church in Southfields at 8.30pm every Monday evening during term time.
There are no auditions and you don't need to have past experience or music reading skills to join.

Arrival and warm up
We meet in the main area of the church with plenty of opportunity to chat and say hello to friends. We warm up together with breathing exercises, gentle movement and a sing of some old favourites.

Group learning
We separate into our separate groups – Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass – to learn our individual parts for the term's songs. We support different ways of learning including lyric sheets, music score and recordings.

Full choir rehearsal
After a short break and another opportunity to chat with friends, we finish the rehearsal together by running through the songs we've just learned. It's great to hear a song come together.

WE LOVE TO PERFORM
Throughout the year we perform at various public events as well as our very own spring charity concert. We've had amazing opportunities to sing with professional groups and singers, other community choirs and some fantastic bands.
Spring charity concert
Our main event of the year is our spring charity concert at St Mary's Church in Putney. We are joined by Sing SWell Kids Choir, the Sing SWell band and string quartet for an evening of wonderful music and great fun.
With music from a wide range of genres and all profits from ticket sales donated to two local charities, it's an event not to be missed!
Save the date for our 2026 concert:
Saturday, 21 March 2026

Summer performances
Our summer season is a fantastic opportunity for us to perform a few of our happy summer favourites. We play the St Michael's School summer fair as well as our annual visit to the Wimbledon Tennis queue to entertain the happy campers.

Christmas performances
We have a number of performances over the festive period where we sing some non-Christmassy mood boosters before a variety of Christmas classics and festive favourites. The highlight is our annual Earlsfield Station fundraiser, raising funds for St George's Hospital.
